Profile
The dwarf rabbit is a social, intelligent animal often underestimated. Contrary to popular belief, it isn't meant to live in a cage all day: it needs space to move around and regular interaction.
Feeding
- Daily staple: unlimited hay (essential for digestion and teeth)
- Supplement: varied fresh vegetables, a small portion of species-specific pellets
- Avoid sugar-rich foods (fruit only in small amounts)
Care
- Regular brushing, more frequent during shedding season
- Watch nails and trim if needed
- Spacious living area recommended (an enclosure, not just a small cage)
- Neutering/spaying recommended for wellbeing and behavior
Daily life
Needs time out of its living space to exercise every day. Can cohabit with other rabbits (gradual socialization needed), less advisable with predator pets like cats or dogs without supervision.
