Feeding
- Puppy: large-breed growth formula, to support rapid growth without excess
- Adult: 2 meals/day, watch weight — the breed is prone to weight gain and food motivation
- Senior: joint-support formula; the breed is predisposed to hip dysplasia and certain cancers with age

Grooming & care
- Brushing 2-3 times/week, daily during shedding season (dense double coat)
- Significant daily exercise needed (1h+): walks, swimming, fetch games it naturally loves

Daily life
Its love of water and retrieving isn't just a fun fact: this is a working water-retrieving dog that stayed true to its original purpose, and it needs to actually express that retriever behavior (fetch, swimming) to feel truly satisfied — less suited to a very sedentary lifestyle or a small apartment without frequent outings.
